Design Team Lead
Tahoe Modern seeks an experienced and motivated interior designer to lead our in-house team in expanding our residential design and furnishings projects in Lake Tahoe and beyond. This individual will collaborate directly with the Owner/Principal Designer as well as the in-house design team to efficiently execute a wide range of projects.
Our ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for design, a friendly demeanor, and meticulous attention to detail. They should have a proven track record of leading projects from inception to completion and a mastery of project management techniques.

We are a comprehensive interior company based in Truckee, CA, specializing in furniture packages, home refresh services, and new build/remodel projects. Our designs blend clean modern lines, muted colors, and natural materials to create interiors that resonate with Lake Tahoe's relaxed lifestyle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication and expectations.
Oversee interior design projects from architectural review to installation, including CAD drawings, FF&E, site visits, sourcing, procurement, scheduling, and negotiation.
Oversee decor & furnishing projects, including, design/mood boards, floorplans, art, and accessories.
Help insure Tahoe Modern's design aesthetic is properly represented in each project.
Guide the growth and aesthetic of Lead Designers, Junior Designers, and Design Assistants, while managing their workload and providing mentorship.
Take responsibility for project reviews with the Principal Designer and subsequent client revisions.
Help develop and expand internal processes to continually help and improve the client experience
Attend industry markets to source new products and vendors.
Qualifications
8+ years of Interior Design experience, ideally in Residential Design. (or 5+ years if coming from another background such as sales or project management)
2+ year of management experience
Undergrad/graduate degree in Interior Design preferred.
Expertise in furniture, decor, finishes, and materials
Knowledge of high-end residential design requirements and construction methods
Strong team player with superior collaboration and management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with project stakeholders (team, clients, builders, vendors).
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suites, and Canva.
Salary: $85-95K /yr base pay w/additional performance bonus
